Tracker Dog you want:
Tracker Dog #69
Name you'll give it:
At first, my natural instinct was to name him 'Mare Nostrum' because of his aquatic theme and learning about it in Latin class. Then, the name 'The Light One' struck me. His lack of camouflage and bright colors would make his name suit him well. After multiple times of reading his description the name
Scopulus
struck out at me.
Pronounced;
sco • pu • loose
It is the Latin word for 'reef'.
It also sounds like 'scope' which I found a bit ironic because of his poor ability to see.
Reason why you want it:
Hes simply stunning.
His colors are just glorious, how they match the coral reef. I can just image him becoming part of the art work of nature himself. His fins moving in such a unique manner as he playfully skimmed through the water in such a unique fashion. Blending in perfectly in with the fish and his markings, reflecting astoundingly against the sun. His salmon colored mane grazing his back, swiftly, but with great poise.
His personality also matches mine. Im extremely laid back majority of the time (when im a alone), but playful at other times (when im talking to my friends). Im also pretty stubborn like him. I never settle for less than what I want and if I want more ill get it. A few people do find me rude, but its mainly because people are just (can be) dumb. It really does irritate me and it seems like it would for this tracker as well given his pre-written personality.
On my recent trip to the Cayman Islands for my birthday, I visted the Grand Cayman Island Green Sea Turtle farm. There, they have a scuba diving area where you can visit a man-made coral reef. It was undoubtedly the most beautiful thing in the world, just like this tracker. It was also a new experience for me (because of my fear of salt water). Even though I grew up in California on the beach, coral reeves and ocean water were both new to me. Im still afraid of the salt water, mostly because of my fear of moving fish, but the coral reef there definitely made it worth the risk. I also hope that applying for this tracker will be worth the risk of my time, effort, and disappointment. Even though its a lot of fun to try out for him, the risk makes it that much better.
Will it be used in any kind of story?
I hope so
^_^
Ill definitely want to RP with him (hopefully with other trackers). Im semi-lit so im excited to see what I can come up with for him. It would really be a lot of fun to RP with some other aquatic trackers and see how their personalities mix in with his.
Describe its personality:
.:Curious:.
This tracker is very inquisitive about the coral reef he protects. When something seems new, or doesnt seem right, his curiosity gets the better of him and he goes after it.
Quote:The new scent flushed through my nose. My brain pounded, separating the new scent from the other ones I had already encountered. My legs were already coursing through the thick coral and lively fish by the time I realized I was moving. My ears soon picked up a sound, a sound like, something I couldn't describe. I soon realized I was on the outer edge of the reef, a place I had only gone once and had my damaged badly, taking them years to heal. With a large stroke, my tail got caught in old rope. "Why is there rope in the sea" I wondered. As I turned back, I realized what I had stumped upon, a sunken ship.
.:Protective:.
His mission is to protect the reef and he does it very well. He would rather risk his life and die, then have even the slightest harm to the reef or any of the creatures living in it.
Quote:
Getting out of the rope was my second priority, protecting the reef was my first. As I tried to get out of the rope, the sound came again. But this time much more louder, clearer. It didnt sound scary or deadly-in my opinion. but swarms of fish quickly flew out of the ship.
.:Relaxed:.
Even in the tightest situation, this tracker is able to remain relaxed and calm. This trait can also be a bit negative for him. He tends to under-react to situations.
Quote:
I remained calm and relaxed. Figuring out what was disturbing the peace was crucial and stressing out about it wouldnt help the situation. I looked through a broken window in the ship and saw two dark figures. I knew I had to get a better look. I gnawed through the rope that was holding back my hind leg and swam around the ship, hoping there was an opening.
.:Intelligent:.
This tracker will always find a way to get his job done. Hes very good about figuring out situations that arent in his favor and his 'schemes' rarely backfire on him.
Quote:
After swimming around the ship multiple times, I couldnt find a way in that didnt include the dark figures noticing me. Then I figured, if I cant get to them, then they'll have to come to me. I quickly swam back to the window next to where I was trapped before. The shadows of the towering ship allowed me to blend in with the dark water around. The 'fins' on my back could be disguised as a sharks dorsal fin in the dark. With a thump against the side of the ship and a quick show of my back, the two figures swam quickly out onto the deck.
.:Playful:.
Playing rather than eating. This tracker loves to play with anything that wants to play with him. Hes especially friendly to other trackers and humans.
Quote:
I followed them, curious to what they were. They had a large cylinder like tube down their back, and seal like flippers on their feet. They also had a plastic protection mask over their face. As I separated their scent from everything else around me, I realized they were humans. I immediately wagged my tail as I swam up to them. As they ran their hand down my face, I nuzzled them gently. They held out small treats they had for any fish that they encounter and I ate them up happily. Humans were a friend to me.
.:An All-Round Great Tracker:.
Knowing how to do this job, doing it right, and making the best of himself is what makes up this tracker.
Quote:
Hours went by as we played under the water and the humans sadly had to leave. With a final goodbye, I swam back to the reef, knowing that everything was under control.
You see, the reef is my life. I feed off it, live off it, and thrive off it. Without it I wouldnt be here, and I am forever grateful.
Write an introduction for your Tracker:
A glazed sky stood over the divine reef as the Australian sky showed colors of red, pink, orange, and purple. Fish of every color swam along the coral that made their homes, food, and lives. Everything there just seemed perfect. The coral grew freely, the fish were rarely hunted, and there was never a shortage of anything.
At the center of the reef, there was an unusual spot. It was larger than the others, more colorful, and vibrant. Colors of pink, orange, white, and green made it unique. At first glance, one would think that this was just another piece of coral, but after further examination, you could realize it was something more.
The coral wasnt made of just coral, there was an animal living in it. The fin like opening on the tip of its tail dug under the ocean floor and into the heart of the coral. The creature seemed to feed off of this, only detaching it to protect the entire reef itself, or play with its master. Its mane-like fins flowed through the water, appearing as shelves on a normal reef. A long tongue gave the appearance of an eel, and could be deadly to the touch.
As the stunning creature rose from its spot, his full appearance was shown.
A true tracker.
